Day 1: Game Drive in Samburu National Parkmarsabit_n_park_1

From Nairobi you are driven to the Samburu National Park in Kenya’s rugged and remote Northern Frontier District. After lunch you go on your first game drive in this dramatic landscape – a lava plain with steep-sided gullies and rounded hills.

Accommodation
You spend the night in one of the natural stone cottages at Samburu Serena Safari Lodge, on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River Ideal safari lodge on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River in the Samburu National Park.

Day 2: Search for Rare Samburu Wildlife
You spend your day on an early morning and afternoon game drive. Some of Kenya’s rarer species like the long-necked gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe can be seen in this reserve, and the green ribbon of forest on either side of the river is alive with birds.

Day 3: Arrive in Mount Kenya National Park
In the morning you are driven to Mount Kenya National Park, arriving in time for lunch at Serena Mountain Lodge. 

Accommodation
The lodge overlooks a floodlit natural water-hole and salt lick, and your afternoon and evening can be spent viewing game from the lodge itself. Elephant, buffalo, rhino and waterbuck are all regularly seen coming out of the dense surrounding rain forest- Superior safari lodge situated on the slopes of Mount Kenya.

Day 4: See the Lake Nakuru Flamingos
After breakfast you are driven to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch. Your afternoon is spent on an exciting game drive. The shallow soda lake is home to thousands of lesser and greater flamingo, and the park also provides a sanctuary for buffalo, waterbuck, impala, Rothschild giraffe, and leopard.

Accommodation
You spend the night at Naivasha Sopa Lodge on the southern shores of peaceful Lake Naivasha – Superior country lodge on the southern shores of vast Lake Naivasha in Kenya.

Day 5: Be Amazed by the Masaai Mara
In the morning you are driven to the Mara Serena Safari Lodge located in the world-renowned Masaai Mara, arriving in time for lunch. Your afternoon is spent on a game drive, giving you your first taste of this remarkable reserve.

Accommodation
You overnight at the lodge. Built following the style of a traditional Maasai village, the lodge has a fantastic position set high on a hill overlooking the reserve- A hilltop lodge situated in the world-famous Mara Triangle.

Day 6: Spend the Day in the Masaai Mara
Today you go on both morning and afternoon game drives in the Masaai Mara. Lion are common in the Mara, as are the rest of Africa’s ‘Big 5’. Other animals you are likely to see on your drives include zebra, jackal, gazelle, giraffe and eland.

Accommodation
The swimming pool at Mara Serena is a definite highlight; you can cool off after your game drive and still watch game on the plains far below- A hilltop lodge situated in the world-famous Mara Triangle.

Day 7: Fly to Tanzania
In the morning, Drive back to Nairobi then transfer to Wilson Airport for a flight to Arusha. From there you fly to Dar es Salaam, Tanzanian’s capital city.

You spend the night at the 5-star Tanzania Serena Hotel, set in peaceful landscaped gardens and overlooking Central Park – Stylish hotel situated close to Nairobi’s city centre.

Day 8: Travel to Lake Manyara National Park
Your tour begins as you make your way from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park, which lies on the floor of the Eastern Rift Valley in Tanzania.

Accommodation
Your first night on tour is spent at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge, set on the edge on the Mto Wa Mbu escarpment with incredible views over the park. ‘Boma’ style rondavels on the edge of the Mto Wa Mbu escarpment, with views of Tanzania’s Lake Manyara.

Day 9: Drive to the Ngorongoro Crater
In the morning you descend into Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing, returning to the lodge for lunch. In the heat of the day lion can be seen stretched on the branches of flat-topped acacia trees – a habit only endemic to Manyara lions. Along with these amazing tree-climbing lions there are the usual browsers and grazers as well as around 380 species of birdlife. Day 10: Descend into the Crater
Start the day with a half day game drive in the crater. Grasslands, swamps, lakes, rivers, woodlands, mountains and an incredible abundance of wildlife are all present in this wondrous microcosm of Africa.

Accommodation
You spend the afternoon at leisure at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge, which has been constructed into the rim of the crater with endless views over the plains below. Superior safari lodge situated in the Ngorongoro Conservancy Area in northern Tanzania.

Day 11: Travel via Olduvai to the Serengeti
Depart with a picnic lunch and drive via Olduvai Gorge, where some of the most important fossil humanoid remains have been unearthed, to the Serengeti National Park. There will be game viewing en route to the lodge.

Day 12: Explore the Serengeti National Park
Today you have both morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti. This is one of the world’s last great wildlife sanctuaries, and the name Serengeti comes from the Maasai ‘Siringet’ which means ‘endless plains’.

Accommodation
You spend a second night at Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge Traditional African safari lodge overlooking the grasslands of the Serengeti, Tanzania.

Day 13: Set Off for Nairobi
After breakfast at the lodge you are driven back to Dar es Salaam, arriving at around noon.
