NILE RIVER EXCURSIONS
The cruise upriver from our jetty at Paraa on the South bank to view Murchison Falls at the head of the Fajao Gorge has been the park’s most popular attraction since the 1950s. We run a scheduled trip every afternoon departing by 2.30pm as well as in the mornings at 08.30am and 11.00am when demands requires. Pickups and drop offs by boat from the North bank at Paraa as well as lodges along the Southern banks of the Nile river can be pre-arranged. We also offer a special Waterfall Sundowner Trip with drinks and snacks included which departs at 3.30pm every afternoon (subject to minimum numbers) and private trips on an exclusive basis, (see below). Guests should please ensure they are at the agreed departure points at least 15 minutes prior to departure time as timings may vary slightly depending upon the day’s pick up bookings.
Private Waterfall Cruises
Pick up point and timings to suit from USD32- per adult, or USD325 per boat, subject to trip duration and boat capacity / type. This is an excellent opportunity for viewing the large resident populations of hippos and crocodiles, as well as other wildlife and extensive birdlife, including a wide range of waterbirds, and a huge colony of cliff-nesting red throated bee eaters, along the way.
Specialist Trips
Birding, transfers, walking up the falls. From USD250 per boat subject to trip duration and boat capacity / type. We can offer you a private boat on the river exclusively for activities and timings to suit you. Perhaps some fishing combined with bird viewing or simply taking in the beauty and views from the boat as you search for the animals en route. Your guide can show you special places for a stop off and walk or moor up for a while and enjoy your sundowners. Just tell us your wishes and we will accommodate you as best we can.
Cruise and Safari
Your park experience can be enhanced by combining river voyages with pre-arranged vehicle collection. Travel by boat to the delta and return to Paraa with a game drive through the game-rich Buligi area. Or leave your boat in Fajao Gorge and climb to the Top of the Falls for the view down into the thunderous chasm, before returning to Paraa by vehicle – either your own or we can arrange one for hire.
LAKE VICTORIA EXCURSIONS
Sunset Cruises
Why not treat yourself to a Lake Victoria sunset cruise? With Lake Victoria as one of the largest lakes in the world; we offer, from Entebbe late afternoon cruises by boat out towards the equator line or local islands to view the sun over the horizon. Watch the fishermen cast their nets and enjoy the snacks and drinks provided on board.
Meeting point & Timings: Depending upon your cruise we meet In Entebbe, at Banga Beach, Nakiwogo or Lugard Avenue outside UWEC (Zoo) where safe parking is available and departure from the pier a short walk away. Journey times for sunset cruises are approximately one to two hours in the late afternoon from around 5.00pm.
Bird Watching
If you are an avid bird watcher, and have a bit more time we can also incorporate a visit to the Mabamba papyrus swamp area – home to several pairs of the rare Shoebill Stork. As well as the possibility of seeing these elusive birds, there is an abundance of other water birds, wildlife such as otters and much more to view amongst the tranquil waters of this area.
Meeting point & Timings: In Entebbe, Lugard Avenue outside UWEC (Zoo) where safe parking is available and departure from the pier a short walk away. Journey times for Mabamba swamp are approximately 3-4 hours and are best conducted in the early morning or late afternoons when it is cooler.
