5 Days Uganda Gorillas & Chimpanzee Tracking combines the thrill of tracking mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with the enchanting encounters of chimpanzees in the pristine Kibale National Park. From the vibrant city of Entebbe to the dense and mysterious forests, this safari promises an unforgettable journey, allowing you to witness the incredible diversity of Uganda’s primates while exploring its breathtaking natural wonders.
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Kibale National Park
Upon arrival at Entebbe airport, our company representative and your driver/guide will welcome you. Start your journey west, passing through Mityana and Fort Portal for lunch. Continue to Kibale Forest, arriving in the late afternoon. Check into Chimpanzee Forest Guest House for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest
After an early breakfast, embark on a thrilling chimpanzee tracking adventure near Kanyanchu. Spend half a day in the presence of these fascinating primates. The area is rich in biodiversity, hosting golden monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys, baboons, various colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabey, red colobus, blue monkeys, and pottos. Discover other wildlife, including forest elephants, giant forest hogs, and unique tree species. 
Enjoy lunch and later explore the Bigodi Swamp Sanctuary on a guided nature walk, ideal for birdwatching. Return to Chimpanzee Forest Guest House for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, drive to Bwindi Forest, the habitat of mountain gorillas. Pass through the Ishasha sector in Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions.
Continue to Bwindi with lunch en-route. Arrive in the afternoon and check into Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Mountain Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi
Early morning breakfast precedes your journey to the park headquarters for a crucial briefing before embarking on the gorilla trek. Trek through the dense impenetrable forests, spending an hour with the awe-inspiring mountain gorillas. Optionally, take a brief nature walk to the local Batwa community, exploring curio shops and the children’s school. Nature lovers can choose the Munyanja River trail for birdwatching and butterfly sightings. Return to Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Return to Kampala
After breakfast, begin your journey back to Kampala with lunch en-route in Mbarara town. Drop off at Entebbe airport for your return flight, carrying cherished memories of an unforgettable gorilla and chimpanzee tracking experience.
