Early Morning Preparation: Wake up early for breakfast at your hotel. Dagiz Travel’s guide/driver will pick you up between 5 am to 6 am (depending on your hotel location in Kisoro or Kabale). Request hotel/lodge staff to wake you on time and pack your lunch or snacks.
Gorilla Trek Briefing
Briefing at the park offices begins between 7:30 am to 8 am, providing guidance on gorilla interaction etiquette and expectations. Group assignment (maximum 8 participants) based on fitness and preference among the 10 habituated gorilla groups in the park.
Gorilla Trekking Experience
Mentally prepare for the trek, with flexibility for varying trek durations based on gorilla family location. Bring gorilla tracking essentials: boots, long stockings, raincoat, caps, and rain-proof pants. Park rangers provide trekking sticks and accompany you throughout the tracking. Optional porter services (for hire at around $15) to ease the burden of carrying heavy luggage.
Gorilla Watching
